What do you mean by good consulting company? Good consulting companies never care about H1 employees. Deloitte,accenture,IBM,Fujitsu, Cap Gemini all are good consulting companies.They place you in good projects,pay well but do not gaurantee about green card filing . Even if they promise you cant trust them. According to me, As long as you can find projects by yourself any consulting company who has good financials is a good consulting company and they will file your green card immediately. If they have good vendor contacts it will be a plus.

Obviously it will fail...but at least we will do away with these "comprehensive" things and
focus on piecemeal.

One option for you would be to consider looking for another job which meets your expectations. You can ask your new employer to file a new Green card PERM. After PERM approval you can file a new I-140 along with a request to transfer your priority date (PD) of Nov 2004 from the old I-140 to the new I-140. This way you can keep working in the job or profession of your choice while not sacrificing any of the time you have originally invested in the 1st Green card process. Hope this helps.

I am not sure about 1 week prior to appt they will allow or not. If you have real valid reason you may try talk to the officer(not the guard) and explain the situation. Kids are allowed. Our daughter is citizen and we took her with us.

The reason I am doing paper based is that current immigration question. In efile you have to make a selection which apparently doesnt have the AOS option. On paper based we can put, Adjustment of Status (I-485 Pending).

Please go back and read my post again. I didn't use the word attorney at all. Please make sure your point is clear before raising a finger on someone. All i am educating him is to file through his employer. In fact i don't personally like attorneys. When i filed my 485 on July 2, i filled the entire application by doing my own research and all my attorney did was signing it. Just to sign it also she said she was busy and she didn't file my EAD/AP.
Sorry kriskris...I misunderstood. I take my words back. Yes, we need Employer help for signing the forms etc since only Employer can file new H1 or H1 extension. Avoid Attroney help just for signing G-28 form. Instead contribute some of that savings to IV if you like.

At the outset , let me express my sincere gratitude for introducing this bill. I have been in the US lawfully under the highly skilled category since 1999. However, my Permanent Residency is still pending because of employment based visa back logs. One very useful provision that I request you to introduce in this bill is to recapture the unused employment based Permanent residence visa numbers from 2001 through 2005 and use it now. These Visa numbers have never been used due to various reasons within the USCIS. Using these Visa numbers will provide much needed relief to people like myself who have been waiting for many many years.
I love this country and am eager to make more contributions. Permanent Residence will allow me to start my own enterprise and create jobs in this country that I have come to respect, admire and live in. Waiting in the limbo for several years not knowing the outcome is constraining my education, abilities , work experience and drive.
Again, Thank You for introducing this bill and I urge you to add the provision to recapture the unused employment based permanent visa numbers form 2001 through 2005 that will provide the much needed relief.

Labor was filed in June 2006. The date on my degree certificate is later than that. The hope is that the person who reads the response to the RFE considers completion date instead of date of receiving the degree (official graduation date).
